HOW TO MAKE A RESERVATION

We much prefer reservations and correspondence by email and phone, a paperless system (except for checks or money orders, of course).   We will respond to your mail if email is a problem for you; however please send mail enquiries to Addie (see below) because Matthew picks up mail in Nags Head only twice a month.

The phone number for Matthew is my mobile and will be answered (or call returned) promptly.

Matthew handles reservations, availability, rates, the area, directions, your arrival, your needs while you are here, etc.

Addie handles the accounts, so please mail payments to her, and email her with questions about payments, refunds, etc.

**There is no telephone in the cottage, only WIFI.
We need your cell phone in case we need to call you while you are there.

Native's Return is not normally rented to non-family groups of unmarried young adults less than 23 years of age.  Group size may not exceed six (6) adults and children.

2.  YOU RECEIVE RESERVATION AND CONTRACT BY EMAIL

Your reservation will show dates and fees, and a copy of your LEASE AGREEMENT will be attached.

3.  MAIL US YOUR ADVANCE PAYMENT

Your reservation is CONFIRMED once we receive your ADVANCE PAYMENT, which is due within five (5) business days of the date we email your reservation.

We accept only check, money order, or wire transfer payments at this time.  Add $24. for wire transfer and please contact Addie by telephone to arrange.  We avoid sending needed bank information by email.

The ADVANCE PAYMENT required is one-half the TOTAL of your BASE RENT, PET FEE (if applicable), TAXES, and $200 refundable SECURITY DEPOSIT.  There is no reservation processing fee.  BASE RENT and PET FEE are taxed at the rate of 12.75%.  SECURITY DEPOSIT is not taxed.  Allow five (3-5) days for mail delivery.

FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED IF RESERVATION IS MADE LESS THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.

4.  WE RECEIVE YOUR ADVANCE PAYMENT

Receipt of this payment indicates your acceptance of the terms of the rental contract and your reservation is automatically confirmed.

5.  MAIL US YOUR FINAL PAYMENT

Receipt of FINAL PAYMENT is expected

no less than three weeks prior to your arrival.  FINAL PAYMENT consists of the other half of TOTAL DUE.  Allow five (5) days for mail delivery.

SECURITY DEPOSITS are normally refunded within 30 days after check-out.

6.  CHECK IN

Normally Matthew or Terry, our housekeeper, will be there to welcome you, give you keys, and answer any questions you may have.  Cottage rents normally Sunday to Sunday because of traffic delays on Saturdays, and check-in is 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm.  Please let us know on the day of your trip what time you expect to arrive, and make arrangements ahead to check in early or after 6pm.

WHILE YOU ARE HERE

Supplies. Bed linens are provided and beds are made when you arrive.  There are extra blankets in the closets.  Paper products, toilet items, detergents, trash bags, and other household cleaning supplies are also provided.   Towels are not provided.

Equipment Probelms.  Please call Matthew ('252-573-9699) right away if you have a problem with the heating/air conditioning system or other equipment, and we will try to get someone out as soon as possible to take care of the problem.  We have power failures from time to time; check the supply closet for battery powered lanterns.

Lock-outs. We provide 2 keys and recommend you keep one key on the premises at all times (a hiding place?) so you will not lock yourself out and be unable to get back in.  We cannot guarantee that someone will be available on short notice to let you in, in which case you might have to call a locksmith at your own expense.

Pets.  Clean up after your pet and remove pet poop from the lawn and flower beds to the garbage.  Please keep your pets off the furniture & beds.

Nags Head allows pets on the beach and other public areas on a leash.   Owners are required to clean up after their pets and this is critically important on the beach.  We recommend your pets be treated with a product such as “one spot” or “program”.   Because of the many parks, wildlife refuges, and other natural areas on the Outer Banks we have lots of wildlife, such as rabbits and deer, which means we have a robust population of ticks and fleas here.

Rentals. Metro Rentals ('252-480-3535) rents all types of useful equipment like cribs, playpens, electronics and every conceivable type of beach gear, umbrellas, etc.

CHECK-OUT

Check out is at 10:00 am and we hope you will check out on time so that the cottage may be properly cleaned and inspected for the the next guests.
